The course of events

The event is coming up soon, and we would like to share the course of events for the wedding and baptism ceremonies and the celebrations following them. The scheduling of the events and the types of events will differ somewhat from those which people may be familiar with. However, this is - like so many things between Shaw and Rafaela - a multi-dimensionally hybrid ceremony, which helps explain what's planned (and when it's planned).

In Chile, many wedding ceremonies (like this recounting) start at or after 8pm, with the celebrations starting at 9pm and going until the wee hours of the morning (i.e., 4am or so). Since this is also a baptism ceremony (and since Maya doesn't yet like to stay up to dance until 4am), we have shifted things to start earlier.

The various activities will take place in different parts of Olmue Natura, shifting from the southern end and ending at the northern end. Shaw put together the map below to help with explaining the plans for the 29th.

2:00pm     Wedding ceremony and baptism ceremony (Zone 1)
3:00pm     Cueca dance performance by Pata en Quincha (Zone 1)
3:30pm     First toasts of the cocktail hour (Zone 2)
4:00pm     Cocktail hour (Zone 2)
5:00pm     Dinner (Zone 3), with food being served at the quincho (Building F)
6:00pm     Dessert (Zone 3)
7:00pm     First dance and the start of the fiesta (Zone 4)
8:00pm     Release paper lanterns (Zone 1)
9:00pm     Cake cutting (and coffee) (Zone 3)
11:00pm   End of the fiesta (Zone 4)/Start of campfire time (Zone 5)
     ...until whenever.

Yes, there will be dancing going on while the various other events will be taking place, and the pool will also be open to those who want to take a dip. The weather should be warm; the average high temperatures at that time of year are around 80F.

Remember: the whole event will be outdoors, so make sure your dancing shoes are fit for walking through the grass and dancing on packed earth.

Also remember: take lots of photos and share them through the Facebook page.
